THE TWO-MINUTE GUIDE
An overhead view.
Four simple steps.
Fix a camera above the middle of your pool table, with all six pockets visible. You need a camera that provides RTSP, MJPEG or a JPEG snapshot—or a USB webcam. A camera that only works in its own phone app needs a compatible bridge first.
Before you start: download the Windows helper from livestream.cuetracker.app, unzip it and open CueTrackerCameraStudio.exe. It opens the setup screen in your browser. Keep the helper running on a computer on the same network as your camera.
Give it your camera address.
Paste the feed address from your camera’s streaming settings, then click Show my camera. For Blue Iris, choose Blue Iris and enter the recorder address and camera short name. For a plugged-in webcam, choose USB camera.
Your camera picture appears below. Camera passwords stay in the helper.
Click the four cloth corners.
Click top left → top right → bottom right → bottom left, just inside the cushions. Click Straighten my table. You now have a cropped, rectangular overhead view.
Choose your picture.
Leave Camera only selected and you’re done. No training or AI is needed.
Want ball labels? Open “Optional: add ball detection”. Import a trained Camera Studio model JSON, test the labels on your own camera, click “Use this model”, then select “Camera + ball labels” and apply.
No model yet? “Train a model” opens the separate photo-labeling tool. Reds/yellows use only four labels: red, yellow, black and cue. YOLO .pt and ONNX imports are not supported in this release. Detection is experimental and never changes scores.
Copy the link into CueTracker.
Tick “Share this table view” and click Create 1-hour link. In Settings → Venue Display, enable “Show Live Stream on Venue Display” and paste it into your table’s Camera or YouTube Live URL in 8 Ball or KellyPool. Leave “local network only” off and camera login fields blank for this generated link. Save and open the Venue Display.
The starter link updates about once per second, lasts up to one hour and allows three viewers. Anyone with the link can watch. Keep the computer awake and the helper open; click Stop sharing to end it. Create and paste a new link when it expires.
Already have a smooth, permanent HTTPS camera feed? Paste that directly into CueTracker instead.
That’s the basic setup. Mark the corners again if the camera moves. Importing somebody else’s model does not guarantee accurate labels on your camera.
